It seems that I always miss the important things, but this incident took place in the wee hours of the morning when I was fast asleep.

The Greek media reported that the captain of Olympic flight 266 from Athens to London He contacted the control tower and said “they had an unknown target in the bright sky over Attica, the unknown object constantly changed positions left and right” and he feared involvement.
A few hours earlier, two other captains, Olympic Airways flights 730 and 700 on Kos and Rhodes had reported a similar sighting.
The first confirmation came from the Tower Control Eleftherios Venizelos said that UFO continues to appear in the region of Karystos and they informed the Air Force.
The tower alerted the Air Force Command and said that they saw an object like a large star that shined bright and has an unspecified size and shape.
Five minutes later, two F-16’s took off from Attica, and searched the area until 07.41 without finding anything.
The article posted on UFO Blogger goes on to say that there was a government coverup of the incident.
