When John Adams was around 20 years old he decided that he was going to America to start a new life.
Somehow, I’m not sure of the details, he made his way to the port of Napoli (Naples), Italy and boarded this ship that brought him to the U.S.A.
Built in 1907 in the shipyard Cantieri Navali Siciliani, in Palermo, Italy, on behalf of La Veloce Line, Italian flag, called Europa. Served line Italy-New York. Features of the boat: 7870 Gross tonnage 454.7 feet long, 53.4 feet wide, speed 16 knots. Two funnels, two masts. Capacity to serve 2516 passengers: 116-1st place and 3rd place 2400-passengers. Launched on 10 March 1907 and made its maiden voyage Napoli-Genoa-New York on May 7, 1907. In October 1915 he made his last trip to New York. The period 1915-1919 remained tied. From 1919 until 1922 he made about ten trips to New York. Intermediates in these trips did some voyages to the West Coast of South America. In 1922 sold to Navigazione Generale Italiana in 1927 and led to the scrap yard.
