Burma-Shave was an American brand of brush-less shaving cream and was active from 1925 to 1963.
The Burma-Shave signs first appeared in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1925 and soon spread all over the U.S.
They were placed on the side of the road about 100 feet apart.
In 1963 the company was sold to Philip Morris and the signs were removed at that time.
For those of you that never had the pleasure of seeing a Burma-Shave sign you can now go to the following site where all of the jingles are archived.
